MICHAEL MOEN, MD

Dr. Moen is a native of the Chicago area and attended medical school at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He completed his Residency training at Loyola University Medical Center and his Fellowship training at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Moen is a member of the Park Ridge practice site of Illinois Urogynecology, LTD which is located on the campus of Lutheran General Hospital. Dr. Moen played a key role in developing the division of Urogynecology at Lutheran General Hospital and now serves as the division director.

Dr. Moen’s practice philosophy is centered on patient education and maintaining good communication with his patients. “I believe it is important to take the time to understand each patient’s concerns and provide the necessary information for her to make the best decisions about her own care.” Dr. Moen has received recognition as one of the Top Doctors in the Chicago Metro Area.

Dr. Moen has also been actively involved in teaching medical students and physicians-in-training and is a Clinical Assistant Professor and the University of Illinois College of Medicine and a Lecturer for the Chicago Medical School. He has been the director of Gynecologic Education and Lutheran General Hospital since 1994 and has served as the Residency Program director at Lutheran General Hospital until this past summer. He has received numerous teaching awards for his work with young physicians including the Council on Resident Education National Teaching Award (twice), the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics Teaching Excellence Award and the Chicago Medical School Excellence in Teaching Award.

Dr. Moen has been actively involved in clinical research and is a past recipient of the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons President’s Award for Outstanding Research. His research interests include non-surgical treatments for incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse and developing minimally-invasive procedures for prolapse.

Dr. Moen also provides services at Edward Hospital, Rush-Copley Medical Center, Central DuPage Hospital, and Northwest Community Hospital.
